Only about 650 blocks to go!!!!
The moving target is still moving…
Below, I will link several halving prediction clocks. They’re not all the same, because they make slightly different assumptions with regards to future hash rate. We won’t know exactly when the halving happens until it happens, but the closer we get the better we can estimate it. If you need a quick update on what the halving is, check out this article.
As of right now, it’s still looking like we will hit block 840,000 on the evening of Friday April 19th. The venue is still SMōK Cigar Lounge, which is located at 9250 South Rainbow Boulevard, Ste 180, Las Vegas, NV 89139. They have a great tapas menu, and delicious drinks. Everything is pretty good, but I recommend the Brisket sliders and crispy chicken bites with the Thai peanut sauce. Also, the SMōK’n Chocolate desert is awesome (and memorable).
They’re also working on making us some specials for our event. I will update that when I know the details.
Please say Hello to the owners (and my friends) that you can see and read about in the website “about” section. They are great people, and soon to be Bitcoiners (with your help!).

Generally speaking, as price goes up mining becomes more profitable and more hash rate comes online. This will cause the time until the halving to shorten. If price goes down, the opposite will happen. Since no more difficulty adjustments will happen before the halving, the block time self-correction of the difficulty mechanism is no longer in play.
